Vampire Clan - Based on Vampire At The Masquerade
New Clan Info:
Name: Clan of The Others - Promiscuus
Symbol:
Appearence: Promiscuus members appear like normal humans, not usually being pale as they can walk in the sun. They usually let their hair grow out longer, even the males. Prone to piercings, tattoos, and the colour black, they would be catagorized as "punk" or "goth". Any physical traits such as eyes, skin tone, height or weight depends on the genes passed down from parents and can vary extremely.
Background: New clan, made from other vampires who do not fit into any other, because they share traits of other clans. Thus the name "Promiscuus" Which means "Mixed".
There are two major types of Promiscuuses. The Corpus and Mentis. Mentis Promiscuuses are more emotional, and have better telepathy and empathy Disciplines, and are usually physically weaker. Corpus Proms have weaker telepathy Disciplines, and are stronger physically.
Not uncommonly, Promiscuuses have practiced Vaulderie rituals, bonding with other clan members. The ritual helps their mind-links, and leaves the particapants both very close.
Promiscuuses are every other clan, put into one. They are not however, a superclan. They do not have all the strengths of other clans, and they do in fact posses weaknesses of other clans. Some of them will kill for profit, such as the Assamites, and they do crave other vampiric blood, it does not however control them, and they are not allergic to it.
Promiscuuses are very passionet, as Brujahs are. But their passion is usually shown more in sexual tendencies than violent. Promiscuuses do have their own versions of how the world should be, but unlike Brujahs, they all share similar visions and are able to keep their beasts, mostly, at bay to work at their cause. Unlike the early Brujah who were more logic then emotion, Promiscuuses are completely emotional, using their hearts and feelings to make decisions. They tend to "go with the flow" and let everything fall into place.
Promiscuuses are not very close to The Followers Of Set, but they do hold themselves in higher standards then humans, and even some vampires. They are somewhat alike for their strong like of corruption, but controlled corruption, usually just toying with humans. They still dislike too much chaos, because it interferes with their Brujah qualities at working toward their goal of a better world.
Promiscuuses are very alike to the Gangrels, but unfortunetly they never mastered shape-change, and cannot become animal, or even partial animals. Instead, they developed an animal form inside them, and their beasts have definate animal forms.
Promiscuuses rely on the instincts of their animals, and some of their passion is derived from the beasts as well. They mostly accept the primal urges, and feast upon most anything, but due to their Assamite likeness, they refuse to feed on anything seemingly too weak for their tastes. In other words, their animals do have morales and are slightly humain, whereas other Promiscuuses enjoy doing what they feel is wrong, getting a trill from the forbidden. Promiscuuses also give into sexual urges, and their relationships with others is far more primal then human, or even vampiric. They tend to take "Mates" other then "boyfriends" or "girlfriends" and will be with more then one other at once.
Promiscuuses are somewhat alike the Giovanni, whereas most are massive sadists, enjoying morbidity and carnage. But they are in not so much mysterious. Also, Promiscuuses are not necrophiliac or incestuous. And when feeding, they do not share the "Giovanni Kiss", their bites are extremely pleasureable, even orgasmic for their victim, unless the vampire wants the victim to feel pain, even suffer. Whereas the vampire can increase or decrease the amount of discomfort the victim experiences.
Promiscuuses and Lasombras have to be the farthest apart. Proms are not canabals, only enjoying blood, not flesh. They have no power over shadows, and do have reflections. They are not suseptable to sunlight, but do however enjoy water. Love of the trade and water are just about the only things in common the two clans share.
One of the closest clans to Promiscuus is the Malkavians. All promiscuuses are insane, and they also use it as an advantage, a strength. But unlike Malkavaians, Proms do not hear the elder Malkav. They do however, have a "hive-mind" and are able to sense each other within their clan because of a closeness they share. It's not as established as the Malkavains though, and does not contain every thought and act each clan member has ever done. Their system is more like cords, each attached to every clan member. What is sent over the cords is up to each vampire in the clan, they may widen the link so that they can sense another more sensitively, or thin the link so that they may go more unnoticed. Rarely, they may even close the link so that the other cannot sense them at all, but this causes discomfort, and the other vampire is highly aware of the missing link. In some cases, if the link is closed for too long it will weaken, and re-opening it is difficult. In even rarer cases, the link can be severed. The only way to re-establish the link is for both vampires to meet and remake a link, though this will be extremely fragile and must be kept semi-open at all times, or will fall apart and need to be remade. Proms also posses the Discipline "Dementation" to a certain degree, although it depends on the mentality of the Prom. If the vampire is a Mentis, they will be better at Dementation then a Corpus would. The level of the Discipline is up to the vampire and how much they practice.
Unlike the Nosferatu, Proms are usually decent looking. And because of the Mentis Proms, their looks are only increased in the eyes of their victims. Proms also tend to have a great deal of information, mainly because they have others, usually humans, who will tell them anything. Proms are good for information, but usually only that concerning them or others they know personally. Proms also heal, but they heal back into their nondisfigured appearences. Because of the Nosferatu's mysteriousness, Proms do not share any other qualities, seeing as how the rest are unknown.
Ranking up with the Malkavs, Proms and Ravonses are extremely alike. Proms are not very honourable, and like to steal and gamble. Their beasts are either extremely violently vicious, or cleverly so. Proms are also quick thinkers, and amazing at deciet. Proms have the Discipline Animalism, but all to a different degree. Where some Proms may communicate with animals, others may just be able to communicate with the feral side in humans or other vampires. The Corpus Proms have Fortitude, and all Proms have a minor version of Chimersty, usually only deceiving seeing, and hearing senses.
Whereas Toreadors are completely obsessed with beauty, Proms only enjoy it. Having a strange taste in what they find beautiful however, most Proms are most interested in morbid beauty then superficial. A Prom would rather stare at an open wound then a nice flower. And where Tores are obsessed with learning how to live at peace with their beasts, Proms do not care. They've accepted the fact the beast is there and use the beast's instinct and primal urges for survival, even pleasure in sexual cases. Though they know to keep their beasts mainly locked away, sometimes in battle or during sex they release a part of the beast and become extremely feral. Though the few Proms that do this only do it on rare occasion, and only with a fellow Prom they are closely bonded with.
Proms, like most of the other clans, have a great dislike for Tremeres. If a vampire was Prom from birth, (( having vampiric parents )), they completely saw the Trems as immoral, but understood the notion of self-intrest. If the vampire was turned at some point in their mortal life, they have some respect for the Trems, because they shared the same lust for immortality. Although no Prom posses magik of any sort, they do believe somewhat in it's existance. They just have no need for it.
Much like the Tzimisce, Proms are extremely territorial, only not over their birthplace. Proms are mainly territorial over their clan members, and servents or childes. Proms do not have Vicissitude, but they have lost parts of their humanity. Most Proms still have a sense of mercy and moral value, but they see it as a weakness and ignore it. All Proms are completely compassionet, because they rely on feelings and emotion, which can be argued a human trait. It's true, Proms do have many humain traits, such as passion and emotion. But they use it to manipulate others, knowing how to twist emotion from personal feeling so that they may gain whatever power or hold on another, weaker being.
Like Ventrues, Proms seek power and love controling others. Living for manipulating those weaker, Proms enjoy being in high places, like running buisnesses. Though they are also lazy, they usually just have people below them to do the harder work, and keep tight grips on mortals in the right places incase any might try and overthrow them. Proms lust for power goes with their territorial traits, mainly encouraged by their beasts. The desire for power also plays in with their views of how the world should be, and in their eyes, gaining power is gaining ways to change the world to their liking.
Strengths: Proms are insane, and usually have personality disorders. Having two or three personalities helps them because whereas the vampire itself is extremely emotional, the other personality will be completely devoid of all compassion. The other personality is there solely for protecting the other, incase the vampire gets too emotionall attached and lets their heart (( even dead hearts can break )) go, the other personality will take over and lessen the pain. Also, the vampire's beast, instead of always being a constant urge and reminder of the curse, is another personality. This way, after much practice, the vampire can shut off the beast in the back of his or her mind. Although if ignored too long, the caged beast will grow strong on pain, anger, rage, sadness, any strong emotions the vampire feels and or represses, and eventually the beast will break free and lash out, the vampire completely, or mostly losing control. The period in which the beast has main control, the vampire will either be extremely vicious or sexual, depending on the vampire, the situation, and those around the vampire. Corpus Prom's beasts tend to be vicously violent. They have little cleverness, and main thoughts are "why use logic or cunning if everything in my way has already fallen ?" Whereas Mentis Proms's beasts are more clever and cunning, using other's weaknesses against them and destroying them mentally rather then physically. A sexual breakout usually only occurs when the beast comes into control around another clan member, or one the vampire is closely bonded to. Sometimes a beast is semi-released for this purpose specifically. Proms are not harmed by sunlight, but do not enjoy it. They have reflections, so mortals won't notice if the being is a vampire. They have many Disciplines, though not all of them are full strength as other Clans have the few they are well practiced in. Promiscuuses are considered "Jack of all trades" and are decently practiced at many vampiric powers. Also, clan members posses the mental links, so that they may sense one another easily.
Weaknesses: Many a time a Prom has been screwed over by emotions. Maybe the most humain of the other clans, Proms still have moral values and merciful sides that don't always agree with their actions. The MPD (( multipul personality disorder )) can turn out for the worst, where the Prom fails to recognise they have another person in their mind, and the two or three can be fighting for control, where the vampire might forget a lot, or blackout when another personality takes over. Also, Promiscuuses are mutts of the vampire world, and not seen very high on the clan chain. Vampires in other clans who feel they do not belong there may eventually become a Prom by sharing too many of the other clan's traits, and just fit in here because it's a mix of the rest. Accepting the fact the vampire him or herself is not a pure-bred Brujah or Giovanni or other clan member such as a parent or friend can hurt, and even cut into their ego, but ignoring the fact they belong to this group would drive them slowly insane, (( more insane then they begin, whereas the insanity they posses can be used to their benefit )) and make them unable to use their powers to manipulate others, and completely shut them off from other clan members. Mental links can be a bother as well, when a Mentis Prom and a Corpus Prom are fighting, it's both mental and physical, and both can be seriously hurt. Though Proms rarely fight with each other, when they do it's a minor squabble over something only a pair might be upset over. Proms are frowned upon by other vampires, especially elders because they are considered rogue vampires, who "ran out on the other clans" and only started their own to be difficult. Proms usually don't realize what they are until it's too late and they've been alone too long to closely bond with any other vampire or mortal they may take in. Their insanity, if not realized and practiced will destroy their minds. Being alone for too long will leave them unable to manipulate their minds correctly, also destroying themselves. And in some cases, their personalities will refuse to get along and split farther apart, completely wrecking the vampire. Bloodlust can get too strong and the vampire might hurt one he or she cares for, and after soothed by the blood they stole will realize their mistake and hurt for the one they betrayed, though usually the betrayed is mortal and forgives them completely instantly. Most of the Prom's weaknesses end in self-destruction unless a decent balance is kept.
Powers (( Disciplines )):
Potence - Superhuman Strength. Corpus Promiscuuses have this, but only to a certain degree. A vampire in a clan that practices this would be able to out-lift a Corpus Prom, unless the Prom's beast was unleashed, whereas the vampire's Potence becomes full-fledged and maybe even a bit stronger then a well-practiced vampire that has it as his or her main Discipline.
Celerity - Superhuman Speed. Corpus Promiscuuses have this, but to a much lesser degree. Once again, the vampire's beast enhances this greatly.
Presence - Superhuman Charisma. Both Corpus Promiscuuses and Mentis Proms posses this, though it mainly depends on which vampire practices it more. A Corpus Prom, when his or her beast is unleased, Presence is greatly diminished, because the beast is violent and destructive. When a Mentis Prom's beast is unleashed, his or her Presence is increased somewhat, because the vampire's beast is cunning and clever, and may be dangerously beautiful to an onlooker, usually mortal.
Animalism - Ability to talk to animals, or the feral nature in mortals or other vampires. Corpus Proms usually posses the ability to converse with animals, or at least relate to them. When their beast is unleashed, animals have even joined into the slaying of others, mainly because they sensed the feral and primal rawness of the vampire. Mentis Proms can sense the feral side in mortals, or other vampires because their mentality is so strong. Some stronger Mentis Proms may even unleash another vampire's beast against the vampire's will.
Fortitude - Endurance of pain. Corpus Proms have this to an extremely high degree, and when their beasts are unleashed, they completely forget of the "pain" concept. Mentis Proms however, are seriously lacking here, and sometimes may even be more sensitive to pain. Although their beasts make up for it, when unleashed they leave the vampire completely numb to pain.
Protean - Taking on different shapes or appearences. Both Mentis and Corpus have this to a certain extent, being able to change mainly their eye colour. Anything beyond that they can't do very well, and revert to mortal ways of physical manipulation, such as hair dye, piercings, tattoos, etc. When a beast is unleashed, the vampire will look the same, but the aura surrounding the vampire will become stronger and others may sense a change rather then see it.
Auspex - For-seeing omens. Corpus Proms don't have this Discipline normally. Mentis Proms can have this, but usually chose to ignore it. In some cases, Corpus Proms who have bonded with a Mentis Prom can use the Mentis's gift, and even aquire it as their own. Beasts have no effect on this, as when they're released they have little need for looking to the future.
Dominate - Ability to mentally control another. Corpus Proms have this trait, but just barely. Their beasts even less so, because usually even mortals aren't foolish enough to get close enough to the unleashed vampiric animal. Mentis Proms are extremely good at manipulating this Discipline, their ability to touch the minds of others benefitting this Discipline. When their beast is unleashed, Dominating the other person is not as subtle as it is violent and forceful.
Obfuscate - Ability to mentally confuse another. Corpus Proms aren't too good at this, except for when a mortal or another vampire is trying to figure out the mindset of the Prom, whereas they are left completely stumped and questioning the very fabric of realtity. Mentis Proms are good at this, and don't see it so much as a weapon as a toy. They enjoy playing with the minds of mortals and leaving them confused, breathless, sometimes they even use this to capture new "pets". When beasts are unleashed, the Discipline vanishes completely. No mortal is dumb enough not to understand vampiric rage, and those that are die too quickly for confusion.
Chimerstry - Ability to manipulate "Maya", or the lie of the world, creating illusions that deceive all five senses. Corpus Proms don't usually have this, and those that do have it to a very slight extent, not even able to manipulate the illusion in their own mind, let alone the mortal's. Mentis Proms have a slightly better grasp on this, though even when weilded to the best of their power, it may only fool up to three of the five senses, usually sight, hearing, and in rare cases, touch. Beasts don't help this, they actually enjoy the mortals seeing what's actually there, so that the beast may feed off the raw disbelief, suprise, anger, or other strong emotion the mortal experiences.
Thaumaturgy - Magik. Neither Corpus nor Mentis has blood magik, though they may feel a balance within themselves that wicca speaks of and dabble in spells, mostly for hobby, not a lifestyle.
Vicissitude - Flesh and bone manipulation. Neither Corpus nor Mentis have this, although some may say they have it slightly because they heal extremely fast, and some may argue that it's actually them manipulating their flesh and bone to heal.
